 I was really concerned about the weather as the reports were pretty certain that there would be gales and storms. Well we had to set off early as we had a long trip about 100 miles all told to get to a club to perform a New Years music evening for them. The rain stayed off actually so we were real lucky, but just as we were nearing the town it started spitting and then raining and I could,nt believe it but the windscreen wiper just dropped off in front of my eyes  So my other half had to get out of the car with a titchy torch stuck in his teeth and a tube of superglue..LOL...and try his best to stick the bluddy thing together...and would it stick? Would it hell!! so then, he had to bend the arm of the wiper so that it would not scratch the windscreen. Fortunately it was the passengers side and not the drivers side. Well the OH said to check the directions with the same piddly torch and somehow as I picked up the map and the page of instructions I dropped the flippin torch and I could,nt find what the hell had happened to it... SO THEN...dammit, I had to get my ruddy glasses out and then look for the torch but still could not find it, so we had to stop the car and there in the side of the door was the torch.  So that was that. We found the club and when we got there they were eating what seemed like 100 courses for dinner...so we had to wait nearly four hours to hit the stage... but it was an amazing show and a fantastic evening everybody danced all night...we did,nt finish until around 1 0 clock and then there was all the packing up and driving home. On the way home it started to bucket down with rain but we took ir really slowly and it was brilliant when the gear was safely back in the house and we were sitting down to some hot soup and tea.. I thought I would tell you how it went anyway, because lots of stupid things happen to me like the blinking windscreen wiper...can you believe that?? I tell you, nobody would really would they of all the things to happen lol ...anyway...this was a mild night for things that go wrong with ODM... trust me...its true... .but Im hoping 2007 the lord of tricks has got bored with me and moved on...  PS.. Im off to bed soon so dont worry if you find a few of my posts littered around the place in the morning and they dont make sense... ;D ;D

Happy new year Izzy :-*glad to here you made it there and back safe and well im sure the show was fantastic,its bean blowing a gail here all night but it hasent stopped the fireworks going off all biddy night >:(i just hope ive still got a greenhouse intact when i look in the morning im off to bed now so il see you tomorrow |

 Thanks Carrick and as I got up today the thunder was SO LOUD I honestly thought the heavens had torn in two...my goodness ....the dog freaked out....too... Well its New Years Day...as we sit amongst the storms, grim dark day and the lights on... ...I wonder what this New Year will bring..  p.s. I hope your greenhouses have survived...?

PMSL Izzy, lifes certainly never dull with you is it girl? It sounds like the 'Basil Fawlty' or 'Carry On' school of travelling. 'Carry On up the High Road' perhaps?  You should make a TV series of you're own girl. You're a natural to be a guaranteed hit if that lot was anything to go by. But I hope you didn't jump out and thrash the car with a branch! Its been done before.   Really glad to hear you made it back safe and sound to share the story with us all. x ;D

He He would love to have been there/fly on the wall to seen all the commotion hun but glad you had a wonderful new yrs eve, in these 4 hours that you have to wait don't you get fed also, or do you just watch everyone else eat?
up here we had storms also, and seemingly the main road was cut off for a tree having blown down onto the road, so that was cut off and 2 towns had a power cut - so that must have been fun.
Have to say regarding Fireworks when you don't expect them they are as loud as you get that i almost had a heart attack earlier this evening when suddenly started spurting into the air and all you see is white flashes and youu think your in a war zone.

Our electricity was off for 6 hours on Hogmanay, only being restored at 1 am, so I saw the new year in by the light of a little gas lamp. Still had a little drink though. |

;D to you both Maria and Julie.... No Maria I did,nt get the branch out but I darn well could have done...and yes, I always say I got a few tales stacked up..but they are just like that..people would just think I came off Nut farm if I reeled them off at the time I have to tell you that the OH when he realised the wiper had come off told me he needed the glue... .....when I asked him where the glue is...he said...its in your bag..well my bag is a big furry bag...( Yes even the bag 'aint normal  ) but in my bag is a lot of things...like my indigestion tabs, my glasses, loo roll , clock... sellotape..and other stuff along with a big can of De Icer... the reason I have to carry this around is because once after a show I tried to get in my car but the lock had frozen...so I insist we carry the bluddy thing around with us just so we dont get that prob again and it ends up in my bag... so, when the OH says the glue is in your bag...you must know how frustrated I am trying to find it... :-/and when I do its in with my chewing gum which does not make ODM very happy....grrrrrrr... but...you know...all that was like a bad rehearsal as the show was simply excellent, we honestly had a great time... on the way back yes, it did rain again...but by then we had got the worst of the evening over... We were out over 10 hours..not funny by any means.... ....Julie asked about the waiting, but we did nt realise that would happen but they had a very very very very...x 10 long dinner... and we were starving... so I asked for some sandwiches and coffee...it ended up fine and we have our own dressing room in these nice places....but yes me and the OH had time to talk about all sorts of stupid stuff and watched the far too previous fireworks in the distance out the window... ;D ;D One thing that made me laugh was they had those balloons that were floating about the room with corky things stuck on the end...and when the OH was singing they kept floating down in front of his face....( claps hand over mouth and giggles....tee heeee)... Anyway, hope you both were ok on New years eve too... the thunder this morning made me poop myself..its was so loud..goodness knows what it is like in Wales and Scotland...cos I know you have had it rough up there...its a worry when the trees get uprooted.... it was the same in 1986 it looked like half the trees in england had popped out of the ground...tons of them uprooted everywhere..... ...anyway...... ( I must watch what I write sometimes... ) ps... now that you got me talking about it...you wanna ask me what happened LAST new years eve when the car broke down right outside the club....and we were left in the pitch black with NO TORCH and everyone had gone home....lol ;D ;D hahahaha |
