As for the badness of the characaters in Torchwood...i'd much rather they make mistakes (ie cheating on ppl and allowing ppl to die) it makes the characters more human...they dont do it for fun they do it because it fits in with the feelings of the time and the story. It makes it all the more believable and seem more real, and less of the hollywood plastic "and everyone lived happily ever after" type storylines. We need more realism in our shows. I disagree. If I wanted realism I wouldn't watch TV for it, I get enough of it every day Up to a point I'm quite happy for the protagonists to have flaws but there's a difference between flawed and objectionable. You need a reason to like these people or you stop caring what happens to them. To be fair they haven't got quite that bad yet (although Jack is probably the worst of the bunch) but it's a worrying trend at the moment I'm also a little put out by what seems to be a fairly strong atheist agenda. All this, "there's no life after death, just blackness" is not something I like to suspend my disbelief for. Still, I'm probably quibbling. Most of the time I enjoy it and I'm still watching it so it can't be that bad Regards Julian

Well !! I dont know about anyone else but I was sobbing like a bloomin' baby during the last episode of Torchwood. I thought poor old long suffering boyfriend, Rhys, had bought it for sure! Its was all very emotional stuff. And 'Ooh er!' at the full on Jack snogging too! Blimey!

I was also impressed by some of the acting, particularly Gwen and Owen. I'm not entirely sure how, or why, Abaddon would have been imprisoned in the rift given that the rift was a tear in space time and you'd think something a bit more solid than a tear would be an appropriate prison Still, I can ignore plot-holes with the best of them if the story's exciting enough Incidentally, did anyone see the Adventures of Sarah Jane Smith? I hadn't heard about it but noticed it by accident while channel hopping (missed the first 10 minutes). It's apparently the pilot to a series coming up later in the year. It looks a bit more kiddy oriented than Doctor Who given that Sarah Jane seems to have taken on some young kids as helpers but the effects were pretty good. K9 is apparently busy holding back a black hole for an indefinite period so is presumably not going to be a regular Regards Julian

One of the best we've seen from Wales in a while. Shes a natural. I have agree with you about the Giant Beastie Boy From 50,000 Leagues Beneath The Rift. It was all rather stretching things in order to reach the big ending they wanted to achieve, but as you say, the episode was emotional and action packed enough not to matter too much. I still think they should have made it a giant kitten instead though. LOL Now the Jacks been spirited away by The Doctor, Im looking forward to see how effectively they manager to work the episode when they link between the two shows. I caught about 20 minutes of the tail end of the new Sara Jane programme. Its definitely targeting the kiddies (and the big kiddies ) Looked entertaining enough but not something I think I'll be aiming to watch. Surely, they have to bring K9 back in at some point? (sorry for calling you Shirley ) He was the one with all the best witty lines! So dry! The way he would say "Yes Master"...a true comic genius!

I think I heard a rumour that someone else was making a K9 program (they were in the process before he made a comeback on Doctor Who) so my guess is they can't feature him if this other show goes ahead but are keeping their options open Shirley's my mum's name so close enough, I guess Regards Julian

Julian, your mums maiden name isnt Temple is it? Do you perhaps have dimples and curls? LOL Doh! Now have a vision of you as a sweet little boy, I'll find hard to shake off. Lol! Actually she was named after Shirley Temple, I'm told I do have curls if I let my hair grow but they don't really go well with the bald patch Regards Julian
