 I know Nikitta wasn't the best singer but I thought she was lovely and really wanted her to go a bit further. I still cannot take to Leona, in fact, I leave the room soon after she comes on because I can't bear to even look at her. I don't have a valid reason for this but she just seems to rub me up the wrong way. Now switching my allegiance to Robert - hope that doesn't jinx him

Walsh: MacDonalds aren't going to win Tuesday, November 14 2006, 09:30 UTC - by David Cribb Louis Walsh admitted that he does not foresee the MacDonald brothers winning this year's X Factor. The Irishman spoke about the band on Graham Norton's Bigger Picture after the subject was brought up by the host. "Do you not like them?" Walsh quizzed the studio audience, after a round of boos were heard following their name. "They're really good singers," he continued. "Some people like them." "Yes, they're called Scottish!" teased Norton. Following further teasing from the host, Walsh was forced to resign: "Oh I know they're not going to win".

By the way the other day i was watching itv and it shows xfactor through the week - anyway ben was suffering from laringytis (god my spelling has gone to pot) this was wednesday - Sharon made him go to a harley street doctor who got this confirmed so hope he is feeling much better now.

Now switching my allegiance to Robert - hope that doesn't jinx him Aw im sorry about robert hotscotch i really couldnt belive it when he got given the boot eton rd were rubbish IMO  i actually found it unbearable listening to them it was so bad robert was brilliant i thought whats going on  eton rd has some weird looking guy so they keep them thats the way it looks to me is everyone deaf they are bloody awfull my cat can meow better than the weird one can sing *waits for the onslaught* Admittedly the macdonald brothers are not brilliant but i do think they have more talent than eton rd and robert more so than them both it was the same for poor dionne because she wasnt the best looking of the bunch she was sent home dispite the fact that her voice was amazing i understand that they will need fans ect but how can they do so well one half the group cant even sing and like you hotscotch i still cant stand leona i have no real reason but she goes through me i hate it when she comes on i know her voice is brill but i still cant take to her and way things are looking she may win |

i think leonas voice is amazing ODM. One thing is for sure i'll buy her album and i bet its brilliant. We havent got any singers like her in the UK and i personally think she'll be a huge star. I think eton road will be big aswell. Ben however i used to really like him but I dont know what to think anymore and he definately forgot his words last night but nobody mentioned it whereas poor ashley got slated for it. She made a brilliant job of the Elton song. Its a truly lovely song and I know I sound very hard on Leona.. Its true we have not got a singer like her in the UK but they have one of her in the United States and that is Mariah. If I could only stop seeing and hearing Mariah in her voice I know I would feel a little better about her. The problem is that she has Mariahs STYLE and in the pop business you really need to develop your own uniqueness to be durable and longterm. Leona will probably do very well, but if I was truly honest nobody should have a leg up into the music business unless they have trod the boards and learnt about real audiences and singing live in all sorts of situations. Many people go into the music business and fall foul of it because they have not experienced the rough end of things nor the appreciated the real climb it takes to get there. That is why we have a turnover of new faces and singers and nobody sticks around as a longterm artist. Trust me this is very true. Leona has not had to sing down local pubs and clubs every week, she has just sat at her desk dreaming of the big time and holding her hairbrush in her bedroom much of the time. Ben on the other hand has worked with musicians and writes music and is inspired by sound in general. He is not a glamourous singer, he is just a raw and real piece of musical talent. I am not crazy about Ben at all but he has the ability and has earned the right to make a career. I know Leona can do well but I dont find her amazing because I have seen home grown talent around me for years that is, people who are genuinely excellent and have worked hard. The reason they dont go on these talent shows is because the music industry loses respect for you and they say exactly what I am saying now.. Basically most of these TV talent show singers have not EARNT the fame...and when they get it, they cant cope with it. So lets hope Leona does cope once she is up there...its is a much harder world then what we are seeing on the x factor, and people like simon they make their money and they walk away..that is why you have to be tough..and Leona is only a shy young woman with no experience of these money making ass h.les.  i totally understand and respect what you're saying ODM. The thing is though Leona has written some of her own songs and has actually written an album its just that she couldnt release it because she wasnt signed so she has tried hard to break into the music buisness. I do agree though I hope they follow through with her as she is a shy girl and i just hope to god that simon looks after her and really helps her. |

 yeah. Thanx for that i miss ashley. I couldnt believe he went so early as him and leona have been my faves from the auditions. |

;DHey your welcome Wigan Girl. I did not see the actual performances last night and hope to catch up tonight.. I did catch the fact on the repeat results show that Robert went home. I thought I mentioned something about it on the other thread.. anyway, I dont think Robert should have gone home that is just ludicrous. He needed to calm down a bit more though as that would actually have presented a problem with people he may need to work with. You cant act like an overexcited child..all the same, there was not a lot of justice in him leaving and also the song they picked for him was quite low register and would not have highlighted his vocal in anyway..I saw a little of him singing it on the spin off show at the end of this week so I already was rolling my eyes to the ceiling.. What I hate about commercial Music is that marketing is everything. The word these people look for is PACKAGE. If they find the PACKAGE they dont have to do a lot of work to make that PACKAGE sell. If Leona has written an album then she is just looking for a boat to sail it in, so X factor is the perfect platform to get her signed. In a way her 'package' has come complete without the ribbon and x factor obviously will provide. Well good luck to them all. I personally think the Macdonal Brothers should win. WHY? Because they have singing talent but need shaping up. If the Music industry was not so goddam lazy people like them might get a genuine chance and become the next Everly Brothers. I dont like them much at all, at the moment, a bit too Karaoke, but if Leona is groomed to win ..its just all too easy is,nt it?? |
