What were your first impressions of Aisleyne. And if they were neutral bordering on negative, what did she do to turn things round?

Extracts from articles and people's previous posts
Mummy Bear "When Aisleyne first arrived on BB, she seemed to me to be 'fluffy', with not a lot to her except for white fluff round her neck, the finger-clicking and the ghetto-speak. I took to her through her own speedy guilt and concern of making a mistake at her nomination of Sam, because I recognize and appreciate depth and sensitivity in people."
slowie34 "When Ais first entered the house it was clear from the start that she went in to have some fun. She wasnt interested in all the backstabbing and bi&&ing that was already going on. She was having a laugh and was a breath of fresh air. I loved her from the start.
People keep going on about how much she has changed in there. She still has a laugh and still makes me laugh and cry when things are really bad for her."
jane72 "Great we all thought, another promo girl, hyped up and made up to secure a place in reality TV history as eye candy for typical male BB viewer. Yet from that very first not-so-stereotypical outburst to Sezer many have been fascinated by her."
Emzi "Twelve days into the series, a TV teenager and a surgically-enhanced London promotions lads mag hag entered the Big Brother house. "Hey, don't hold back on the stereotypes, Endemol," I sneered, sofa-bound from behind my Pot Noodle. On paper, you couldn't get more a banally generic pair of Big Brother contestant if you tried. A wave of Big Brother yawns echoed across the land. I almost spontaneously combusted with apathy. The also-rans had arrived.
Ok, initially Aisleyne interested me in that I salivated at the fact that a nice, formerly religious girlie had become some shimmery, fluffy, ghetto fabulous tramp. Oh yes, the Daily Mail's idea of hell was in the Big Brother house. I imagined Anne Atkins whipping herself into a frenzy of doom and throwing herself headfirst into her Aga at the very sight of thongy wrongy Aisleyne wiggling her supposed gangster moll white rude gal ass into every living room in Britain. Marvellous.
Glisten Without Prejudice. No sooner had glittery Aisleyne sashayed into the house, the Trashleyne bandwagon began to roll. First we had Turk berk Sezer who "vowed to bully her", an endless tirade of insults from Grace and Nikki who between them managed to label Aisleyne "Dog, hoochie mama, moose, wigga, bi@tch, slag, very *friendly* person, liar, the ****". Worse still, they deliver the ultimate insult - implying that Aisleyne belonged in Swindon or even Slough. A Slougher, eh? Jeez ladies, there are some lines you just shouldn't cross.
"Trash Ash Bashing" was also rampant outside the house, certain celebrity internet boards snaringly fanfared that Aisleyne was a prostitute, the feminists gnawed her to shreds for being pictured sitting on Mike Tyson's lap. Despite her tabloid titillation looks, The Sun wouldn't touch her with a booby bargepole, opting to refer to her as 'blonde airhead' rather than its usual 'sexy babe' rhetoric. Even certain comedians reverted to yawnsome gobnutsedness, making out that Aisleyne was a female Ali G. The raucous yet bewildering boos came blasting over the Big Brother walls and before long, it looked like Aisleyne was heading straight for Nuts magazine without so much as a whiff of relevance to the game itself."
cloud 9 "
I was the same - and I don't think many would have been rooting for her when they first saw her - that shows you how well she's done - she's actually earned their support while she's been there which shows you she's done well.
How I came to like her:
-Just newly in the house, it must have been quite daunting - immediately she told it to Siezer like it was
-Was shunned and bi@tched about by the Grace, Nicky crowd. I was impressed how strong she was at coping with that.
-Everyone shunned Sam and really took the piss out of her behind her back - if not with each other slagging her off in the diary room. Lots just ignored her. Ash was the only one who rather than slagging her off behind her back, was honest with her about what annoyed her about him. Then after nominations, was the only one to apolgogise and be there for Sam. Everyone else was too concerned at the time for Nicky being up for eviction."

If I remember correctly, I thought she was a Chantelle clone. I remember thinking 'not another one' after she admitted she had breast implants. After that, I quite liked her manner and I remember getting a shock when she came up on the H/L show the following day without make-up. I literally did not recognise her.

I liked her and I have to admit she scrubs up very well I don't think I ever disliked her for anything - she always seemed very genuine although the gangsta ghetto babe was a bit cheesy - to many shades of Slick Vic for me I guess.......

Sorry but its a long one - been on it all evening and apologies if it sounds crap. When Aisleyne appeared out the box I actually smiled because - She was a fresh face, but looked utterly flighty & giggly whenever Glyn spoke to her and very flirty, I sort of rolled my eyes at the TV but I also kept watching wanting to know if there anything else about her, I thought at first she was very full on but then you would need to be especially with all the Heartache and Hurt that she has had to deal with (parents splitting up, not being allowed to see her father, her mum disowning her just because Aisleyne wanted more, living on the streets, a boyfriend who was many things and ended up in jail, her father finding her by pure chance, losing 2 babies) so it was all a front, a shield so not to get hurt, - so in Hearsay I personally think this was basically nerves and you laugh and smile and chatter too much in a large group of people the you don't know, just to hide the front and as the weeks went on layer upon layer eventually was stripped away and you saw the real Aisleyne (don’t pick this up the wrong way in how I say it, as I’m quite bad at story telling but I saw Aisleyne as how I saw her and I would defend her corner always) and yes as I mentioned first impressions….she sussed Sezer out the first minute he opened his mouth and she replied “get rid of all that you never liked” and “you bully them” its how she said it, as in a way I figured you out big time and would keep an eye on him, Grace had a problem with her from the beginning, roping in Mikey, Imogen and Lisa calling her offensive names and being rude behind her back “you notice never straight to her face” it was always whisper whisper. This was my first impression of Aisleyne and her treatment in the beginning, .All you saw was Aisleyne being an easy target all because She was dressed up to the nines, looking gorgeous and very confident with herself, when really you never knew what her story was going to be until the next few weeks showed you the Real Aisleyne

I always keep an open mind about new housemates and by the time Aisleyne arrived I was getting a bit fed up with the bi@tching and hoping for someone who was a bit more straight-shooting. I loved the moment when she was unpacking her suitcase and quickly snatched her dress away so that people wouldn't see it. I think it was Grace who said: "Is that your eviction outfit?". "Or my winning outfit" says Aisleyne! Classic ;D I could definitely get to like this one, I thought to myself. After that, I have to say I was a bit bemused and disapproving of her habit of walking around in thongs or, on one occasion, it seemed no knickers at all. Not that I minded personally, of course, but it seemed a bit cheap On June 7th (I think she'd been in a week) I posted on another forum that she was growing on me and on the 13th I wrote the following: "Aisleyne is rapidly becoming one of my favourites. She seems to really have the right attitude, she's just intent on enjoying the experience and making friends. She's not interested in bi@tching, she's not being judgemental, she's shown genuine compassion for Sam and Glyn, she's tried to make Suzie feel welcome for all the right reasons. She's not egotistical enough to think that Suzie picking her for the meal makes her safe from eviction. She's shown a good deal of perceptiveness and intelligence, she's got a great sense of humour and she's up for a laugh. I thought she was a bit of a hussy when she first came in but I've totally revised my opinion now. I wouldn't be upset if she won" Regards Julian

I thought at first look, she is just another "model" wanna-be, stunning though. I think I actually thought she was the male not SAM.
It wasn't long before I took to Aisleyne she was a breath of fresh air compared to the others. I had stopped watching at that point because of the Shabaz stuff, and decided to give it a go with the new people.
The reaction of Grace et al really annoyed me and I was impressed with how Aisleyne handled herself in that situation. I thought here is a no nonsense girl and she proved me right with her statement to Sezar, she had them sussed in no time.
It didn't bother me at all that she wore thong bikinis and I certainly didn't think she was a "slapper" for doing so, Sure she wore revealing clothes, but didn't they all? and imo she looked good in them.
Any how as the weeks progressed my first impressions about Aisleyne were right, a forthright and loyal girl with a sense of humor.

It didn't bother me at all that she wore thong bikinis and I certainly didn't think she was a "slapper" for doing so, (funny I think most of the people that do think that way are a lot younger than me, maybe I'm wrong here but from postings it seems that way) Why do I feel that I still have to go into defense mode for Aisleyne and how she dressed? Sure she wore revealing clothes, but didn't they all? and imo she looked good in them. I'm 43 so my guess is I'm not a lot younger than you You really don't need to defend Aisleyne on my account, though. This is a thread about first impressions not current impressions. Early impressions suggested a certain blatant exhibitionism designed to either attract votes from the male viewers or get the men in the house on side. It wasn't something I was that worried about, more of a raised eyebrow thing, but I didn't see it as a positive at the time. It didn't take long to realize that that wasn't what Aisleyne was about at all. While we didn't get to hear the explanation for it until much later in the show I had no problem at all with the way she dressed after the first week. Regards Julian

When I first saw Ash, I thought, omg its a Chantelle look a-like. Then I said to my mum, god not another model, dumb blonde, with fake boobies and no personality. How wrong I was! I will started likeing Ash that night Grace heard them chatting. Ash had knew Grace, Nikki, Imo and lisa had been bitching about her and being nasty, especaily Grace. But Ash, being nice and lovely, said "I am so sorry" when the chatting was going on, and Grace looked worried, plus at first Ash thought she was getting booed. I thought, and I even said to my mum, why is she sticking up for that horseface and saying sorry to her but thats the kind of person Ash is. From then on I loved the girl, she made BB7 for me. If she had been evicted, I would have stopped watching it. xxxx

;D Well i have to be honest here when i first saw aislleyne i thought OMG what is she wearing I hadnt been watching every night only saw bits and peices so i first saw her when she was wearing a pink dangly bikini and am ashamed i thought numerous negative things about her . I said to my daughter we will have to vote this strumpet out When i first started to soften up was when i saw the spitefullness directed towards her by grace and the others But i really noticed her and changed my opinion when grace was evicted and threw the water over susie It was aisleyne who stood up to grace over that and even though richard also did she was the backbone behind that i thought to myself wow there is more to this girl than meets the eye After that she continued to impress me and each week i grew to love her more for her courage , and her loyalty which goes unsurpassed she is a beautifull girl and it still startles me know to know how much my opinion changed . Did i like her in the begining NO i would of voted her out at the first chance but she has taught me not to judge people on first apperances . Ive never cared so much about anyone from a tv show before in my life nor am i ever likely too , i cried many times over her mistreatment in the house and for over a hour when she came third . She will always have my respect and love .
