Hellooo Harvest...oh yes I am inclined to agree with you regarding Pete. I understood from reports I had read that he had applied several times for BB and in fact getting on BB was actually one of his main goals and he was actually grooming himself for it. So when his pal from Heaven told him to go on it as he would win, he did not just select a tv series out of the air as of course it was always part of Petes plan.

I wrote some very nice words for Pete originally on his forum and have taken them back again long time since. The problem with Pete is that his mother had a desire herself for the limelight and in fact was exceedingly driven. She must have been to have constantly pursued a career in TV pop as the groups she worked with were in the media spotlight.

The problem with motherhood is that it requires you to be there. If you are 'not there' you do need to make sure that your child is in a situation that does not deviate too much from normal life.
Pete did not lead a normal life because his mother did not offer that to him. There is nothing wrong with parents that go out to work but the very least they can do is to make sure that whatever their kids are doing, there is a balance and a harmony happening in their lives. I believe Petes life was far too colourful for a boy of his age and I also think he was possibly exposed to things far outside of his understanding at a young age.

I actually blame his mother. She, who if you remember took NO TIME at all to kick her job in, put her feet up and suck up champagne on the back of the boy, her son who to all intents and purposes at that time was a 'poor little boy who had been bullied through tourettes'. I have every sympathy in the world for tourette sufferers but I have no sympathy for a mother who from a long way back was determined that someone was going to pay for her champagne lifestyle.

Does this post make me heartless , no it does not, what it does is highlight the fact that too many people are using the sympathetic charity of peoples hearts wrongly. How many articles have there been about PETE and the Tourettes Society and how many public appearances has he and his mother graced in the name of the disability that they played upon with the public??? Are they now intending to go out and help the very many tourette sufferers with their celebrity status?? if not, why not??

Exactly nikkis mum is as bad too we had pete with tourettes and nikki with anorexia how come we havent seen them at any charity functions for these problems so that they can help people who suffer yet aisleyne whos own mother left her and has had numerous problems has never tried to play the public with this kind of emotional blackmail
Why is it that these mothers who claim to be so concerned about these issues people have, have so far done nothing apart from make money for themselves via sob stories in magazines and pete and nikki themselves have just sold out eachother in their bitter feud with one another if they gave a certain percentage to these charitys it would be something yet instead they are more concerned with writing a stupid book about how hard up they are whilst filling their wallets i dont begrudge them any cash they earn dont get me wrong but it makes me fume this absolute pretence of doing it for other people to help less unfortunates , it was gods will BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA

Just got this from an Aisleyne Google alert. In this blog, a ghost writer (not the one who wrote the book) comments on the fact that Pete hasn't even read the book...

It includes the blurb from the book, which mentions Aisleyne, Lea, Lisa and Nikki (but not Jennie!). They're a bit out of date with the Daddy Fantastic reference, aren't they?

The sad conclusion I draw from this is that, far from being a genuine autobiography, it is a money making stunt cooked up by a publicist and a publisher.

Heres something else to mull over..

If Pete is dead easy going and is,nt THAT bothered about the book and is just easing back into his old life with his old girlfriend and his old mates. If he does not now have his band. If he does not get a television career because of his tics, if he does not make it as a singer, actor, commedian or whatever else has been suggested since his stay in BB ...If he has not done anything remotely positive, uplifting and evocative for the Tourettes Society..

...what was the point of going in BB??

....worryingly, was this just for his mother to put her feet up on the prize money and any other spin off
is Pete really calculating or actually quite....simple??? OMG!!

You can get his book for a tenner i think in woolworths - i noticed it today when i was in plus there is a few pics some from the bb house no aisleyne but you do get others

I don't dislike pete, but I do think this passive little boy routine isn't something to admire.

Izzy is right, as is kirstie.; Perfect Pete was little more than a well planned out role he played for the purpose of the show. After several fail attempts, he finally got into the house on the basis of a gimmick, with a well thought out character part to play. Plus, if all else failed, he always had a hook to capture the public sympathy vote.
I see no problem using a tactict, its the game after all but he took it to another level of amateur dramatics. More subtle than Nikki's OTT nonsense granted, but a role playing exercise none the less.

I actually liked Pete a lot right a the very beginning and often found some of his diary room antics entertaining. I even enjoyed his lip-lock with Aisleyne enormously. (In retrospect I thing it was probably the most genuine physical reaction to anyone that we saw from him in the house!). However, as time passed he just started to irritate me with his OTT attention seeking sulks. His ridiculous 'vision' of winning story was the nail in the coffin even before the Nikki reunion he'd worn out my patience with him.

Pete's not a horror like Nikki or Grace but in effect he built his persona around his disability. Sadly that's about all it was, a persona. We never got to see who he actually is and the reality is more than likely a great deal less pleasant, less talented and far less interesting than BB and his agent would have us believe. Either way, I sooo don't care as long as he isn't spreading rubbish about Ais and doesn't disrespect the truest best friend he made in the house.

I won't be buying or reading the book fank hoo!

Yes like you maria i liked him for a while but i never really had him as my fave , and i found that night bb got him drunk in the diary room he was at his most annoying remember he put that stupid thing on his head and fell into the pool it never felt real it was all just a show i remeber being furious that people couldnt see past all this acting and he was in genral boring to watch if id had a second fave it would of been richard but he spoilt that by his backstabbing in the HND but at least he was entertaining , id rather read a mills and boon than petes book in fact id rather eat liver than give a penny towards him and this big rip off

I was actually liking Richard after Aisleyne but i was little put off by him in his attitude in the HND with the other guys and he changed quite a bit when he came back into the house.
