Giver or taker?
Good advice or bad advice?
Why didn't Aisleyne follow her own advice?

Reading Richard's letter - by lea37 on 29-07-06 17:37
Many people have criticised Aisleyne for not getting emotional when reading Rich's letter and this post is an attempt to show people my interpretation of the full picture.
Personally I found the letter very emotional. It was sad, funny and sweet at the same time.
When Imogen was reading out Ash's letter Ash asked her to "Read it properly" as Ims was getting emotional. When she saw how emotional Spiral was when reading Rich's letter (to the point where he couldn't read it) she took over and maintained a calm voice so that Richard could hear his letter properly and hear it in the manner in which it was written, upbeat, positive and informative at the same time.
To read it in a sad, pitying way would have been detrimental to Richard which she knew.
I'd like to point out also that Ash was the first one over to Rich as soon as he started crying. She went over and stood by him and put her arm around him.
She realised that the way Spiral was reading it was upsetting Rich. When she read it out she got him laughing as intended.
Afterwards she went straight back up to him and put her arm around him again, he said "Thank you" and she asked "Are you ok?".
When the letters were finished they stood up and she cuddled him and said "That was a beautiful letter".
They then had a group hug and Richard can be seen stroking Ash's back with his thumb.
People are too concerned in seeing the negative to see the positive points like this.
Please can people try and be fair to the girl and see the whole picture.
She did a good thing by stepping in and she read it in the manner in which it was intended.
I'm kind of glad that some people have focused on the bad as otherwise I wouldn't have looked back and seen the good that admittedly I had missed the first time.
