You lot think you have problems! Apparently I have a choice between two highly questionable namesakes....

First I am apparently a less than glamorous witch from a series of children's books, the main one I could locate being entitled 'Batty Betty's Spells'. The only picture I could find of this charming lady is this

Secondly, and far more fascinating in my opinion, is the tale of 'Batty' Betty Broderick, an apparently notorious murderess, who killed her 'low-life' ex-husband and his mistress in 1989 after years of neglect and ultimate public humiliation in a painful, bitter and irreverent divorce case.
Seems it's all a complicated business and has become an infamous part of American serial killer history and is still debated over to this day. Here are the couple in 'happier' times. Seems its quite a controversial subject, with some people coming down quite heavily on the side of dedicated wife and mother 'Batty', as the victim of the piece, "They got what was coming to them"; whilst the other side almost worship the former husband, a big-shot medical malpractice attorney, with a lot of influential friends in high places and little time for his family.

This quote is from an American forum:
