heck that storyline will almost be a replica of Emmerdale plot at the moment where Tom was pushed and killed by going through a top floor window, but the only thing they have different no doubt is 9 suspects. eastenders - very original lol

LOL Julie hon, you made me smile. I think you just confused us lot thats all, partly by mixing together her real name (June Brown) and her characters name (Dot Cotton) and perhaps also because June wasn't actually in Lace.

It doesn't mention her being in anything called Lace. However, I do remember the TV series called quite well. It was an American TV mini-series, so I doubt June would have been in it but I can definitely see why you thought she was...

This is it isn't it Jules.. The story was about Phoebe Cates' attempts to track down her birth mother. The mother could be one of three women, all of whom had vowed to never reveal the secret truth behind the child's illegitimate birth.

You've just mistaken June, for the American actress Brooke Adams, shown above Phobe in the picture. They do look really alike in that pic. This is her I can certainly see the likeness that caused you to mistake her for our Dot. I reckon it was the hairstyle she had on the show that did it. Though Id have to be honest and say, as lovely as June may be, Brooke was best known for her roles in 'scary' or 'horror' type films and was just a tad prettier than Dot.

You may remember Brook as having quite a deep husky voice, her best know role was probably starring alongside Donald Sutherland, in the Invasion of The Body Snatchers.

**Anyway, sorry I sort of had to digress from the Eastenders theme of this thread (me is bit of a film fan/nutcase, especially the scary sort ) I just didn't want our jules feeling ignored and wanted to let her know I got what she was talking about**

If they ever need a stand-in for Dot we know where to send them now!

I read the book Maria it was really...ahem...really good...Loved it personally and yes later I saw it on tv..

:-XNot only that Julie, but sometimes the characters are based on each other in the various soaps....I find Emerdale pretty naff though I appreciate others people like it. However, I always call it WOODENTOPS....
I only like corrie and eastenders, but that makes me common I guess....lol ;D

Well Im going to watch Eastenders and Corrie then tune in for this disgraceful BB fiasco....not because I think its a wonderful programme, only because I want to see how far you can stretch a farce....!!!!

haw haw haw just realised the name i wrote - totally forgot what i had been writing and was watching something at the same time - No June Brown was in Lace she was the mother not of phoebe cates but of the other characters - Pagan *other dark haired lady* and believe me She was as Rich as sin and never really liked her daughter.

Wow jules . Well I certainly never remembered that character. You got me there, I didnt check the extended list of characters. LOL
So, June was actually Blooke Adams mother in the show then! Makes perfect sense really, since there is a very real resemblance between them.
You'll have to remind me now, I cant remember as its been so long since the show was on...which one turned out to be Pagans mother?? It wasnt Brooke was it? Wasn't it Judy Hales character, Bess??

Jessie Wallace hints at 'Enders return

Jessie Wallace has refused to rule out a return to Albert Square as Kat Slater.

The 35-year-old actress played the popular EastEnders character for six years until 2005.

She told The Sun: "The last thing I did when I was in the toilet in the Vic was take off all my make-up. I felt like I was putting her in a suitcase and locking it.

"She hasn’t gone entirely, though, as they didn’t kill her off and they’ve left the door open for me, which I’m highly grateful for.

"But you can never say never. You just don’t know what’s around the corner."
