Naughty naughty Maringo. I am a vegetarian and have not eaten meat for years. I practise what I preach too. Good! So you've got a consistent attitude and I respect you for that. ;D BTW, what do you mean by practicing what you preach? Is that a little dig at me? I have donated £15, but I used my real name instead of my forum name. I just meant that If I dont agree with Animal Testing, I practise what I preach by the fact that I dont eat meat... It is very noble of you to donate your earnings to support the No Smoking cause. I support Aisleyne wholeheartedly, but even so, I am one of those who has a problem with this particular cause. Like Clash said its a pity really because it is awkward for some of us if we dont agree. We all love Aisleyne though and that is the main thing.

Your suggestion of an anti-bullying charity was a good one and would have caused a lot less controversy.

I eat Quorn products to substitute for meat. I do eat Fish. I think there is a special name for different types of vegetarians. Ones that abstain from all meat eating inclusive of fish. Ones that dont eat any products at all from animals...or dairy = vegan and my type that does,nt eat any meat whatsoever except fish. I was surrounded by the foot and mouth disease cows burning in heaps all around the area I lived in and I swear, once you smell that you will never put meat on a fork again in your life..very very sad indeed.

So if Cancer Research UK promised to only test anti-cancer drugs on mackerel from now on, you'd be OK with that, right? I'll see what I can do. PS... I'm a proper vegetarian.

It used to annoy me when I'd tell people I'm a vegetarian and they'd offer me fish or chicken in the belief that that would be acceptable to me. Even though I'm no longer the strict vegan I was for several years, I still find it easier to tell people I am because the definition of veganism is less vague than that of vegetarianism. I still don't eat eggs or drink milk but will occasionally consume products that contain them mainly for reasons of a varied diet and because I have a weakness for cheese. But the fewer people who know that, the fewer there are who will offer me stuff that I would eat when I know I shouldn't.

When I say I am a vegetarian and people know I eat fish occasionally they accuse me of not being a vegetarian. But I recently googled veggies and discovered there are different ones. I will google it again and put the results in the HEALTH THREAD over by fun and games section. It is very interesting how they break it all down. I think I am called a Lacto Vegetarian or something like that.. The problem of course with any decisions not to eat certain foods is that nobody asks you out to dinner.... my family forget all the time...but when they come around to eat they love the food I serve them and completely forget the fact that there is no meat in it...so it just proves that meals are just as tasty and wholesome without meat..... well...I just found out I am NOT a lacto vegetarian I am a PESCEVEGETARIAN... life is so complicated even when it is only to do with food....
