I used to love Jim'll fix it and used to wait excitedly to see who wanted what fixed and watch them on the sofa in the end getting their medal..I know its corny but I loved it when kids met their pop star idols used to bring a tear to my eye.. this old boy is 80 in fact he looks like the walking dead. ..but hes still going and look at this, the show is coming back...oh goody goody.. Friday, 27th October 2006, 11:53 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Children's TV show 'Jim'll Fix It' is making a comeback after nearly two decades. The "making dreams come true" show - axed in 1994 - will return next year with Sir Jimmy Saville still sitting in the famous leather chair. The veteran presenter - who turns 80 next week - is said to be thrilled to return to the much-loved show. A source said: "Jimmy can't wait to start fixing it for people again. He may be nearly 80, but he's fighting fit and bursting with ideas." The new six-part show - which has been commissioned by UKTV Gold - will continue making children's wishes come true and will also visit the now grown-up hopefuls, who wrote to the show years ago but never got a chance to appear on it. Sir Jimmy - who recently returned to BBC 1 to present the last 'Top Of The Pops' is confident the show's second run will be as successful as the first. He was quoted in the Daily Express newspaper as saying: "You could watch it with your eight-year-old daughter and 80-year-old auntie. We, however, hovered between 19 and 21 million viewers a week for 20 years."

I always feel awkward about my attitude as sometimes I think I say the wrong thing. .and ok..I do, but I have this THING about Kylie Minogue. Now I dont like Kylie Minogue as she was part of the beginning of 'lets get a soap actor' and let them sing. It was a bandwagon thing..Kylie has a very mediocre vocal and is always decked out with reverb and cleverly recorded. The truth is Kylie is getting older and I noticed that when she was doing her Showgirl tour originally the stadiums were not filling in fact it was very embarrassing for her as the content of her show was very lavish. They even printed articles about her squeezing into ther 15' inch corset to boost interest etc...basically the concerts were not selling out and in particular the fact that she was supposed to be ending her tour in her native australia. Not a good sign when she approached the shows in her home town and said..I have got cancer.. . She took nearly two years off with bits of press release here and there with her hair shaved off etc...and looked very fragile etc., sitting on boats and luxury backdrops...then...the news is that Kylie has sprung back like a slinky into the limelight completely cured and is picking up with her Showgirl tour. Ok. But then we learn that Kylie has in the time she has been ' ill' written a book called 'the showgirl princess' and launched her own perfume called ' Darling'. ( all a good back up for when she picks up her showgirl tour) She is now back to the packed concert Halls and drinking in her new popularity. The problem I have with all of this is that Kylie is not far off 40 and her popularity was on the wane with all the new and more sexy girls, Christine Aguilera, Pink, Gwen Stefani, Shakira to name a few on the scene when she went down with her breast cancer. Basically Kylie was not HIP anymore. I find it absolutely extroadinary that someone who is meant to be ill with breast cancer receiving treatments. etc. etc. find ths time to launch perfumes and write books... as well as do all the very strategically planned pictures during her illness.. I wonder what will happen when her next show of popularity dies down... ..or am I just the worlds biggest cynic...

Kylie returns to concert after cancer November 11, 2006 AUSTRALIA'S princess of pop Kylie Minogue was at her best as she took to the stage in Sydney tonight after more than a year off work because of breast cancer.
"Good evening Sydney!" the Melbourne-born former soapie star said as she rose on a platform in the middle of the stage at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
"How are you feeling tonight?"
It was the first time Minogue had performed in front of a crowd since she was diagnosed with cancer 18 months ago.
She underwent successful surgery for breast cancer in Melbourne in May 2005, and a course of chemotherapy in Paris, where her French actor boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, has a home.
During her recovery she wrote a childrens book, "The Showgirl Princess" and launched her own perfume called "Darling".
The London-based star arrived in Australia this week to make her hotly anticipated comeback to kick off her renamed Showgirl Homecoming Tour, in Sydney.
Minogue began the show in front of thousands of ecstatic fans wearing a pink feathered head-dress and flowing gown by designer John Galliano.
She also wore a dazzling bejewelled pink corset as she started her tour with her classic hit Better The Devil You Know.
Minogue went on to sing dance smash In Your Eyes, as well as new song White Diamond, which she recently penned with American dance group The Scissor Sisters.
An energetic Minogue also rolled out favourites On A Night Like This, Shocked, Spinning Around and Confide In Me.
"Are you ready for your 15 minutes of fame, do you like what you see?" Minogue asked her eager audience.
As well as outfits by Galliano, Minogue donned specially created costumes by designers Gareth Pugh, Dolce e Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld and Emilio Pucci.
The 2004 Grammy winner was diagnosed with cancer days before she was due to start the final leg of her Showgirl World Tour in Australia.
The tour was postponed indefinitely and fans were told to hold on to their tickets.
Following Sydney, Minogue and her Showgirl troupe will travel to Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. Then they will head back to Europe, playing dates in the UK from January 2.

Scary Spice Pregnant With Eddie Murphy's Baby Posted Oct 17th 2006 4:40PM by TMZ Staff Filed under: Hook-Ups, Music, Movies, Baby Watch
TMZ has learned that former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, is four months pregnant with Eddie Murphy's baby. The news comes amid rumors that the couple will marry next month.
A source tells TMZ that Brown came into the hip Le Bra Lingerie boutique in West Hollywood on Saturday and was gushing about her impending birth.
Brown, who has a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, is a frequent shopper at the store and admitted the pregnancy had her feeling tired. Brown added that she was concerned she may be carrying twins since, she noted, they run in Murphy's family.
While on her shopping spree, Melanie picked up nearly $5,000 worth of Eres lingerie for herself and about $300 worth of La Perla men's undershirts and underwear for Eddie.
In April, Murphy's divorce from his ex-wife Nicole became final. The "Daddy Day Care" star has five children with Nicole and another son from a previous relationship.
Murphy's rep told TMZ "We do not comment on Mr. Murphy's personal life."
Calls to Brown's rep were not immediately returned.

I think a tad insensitive about Kylie.....I think she is one of the best singers and performers going as is Madonna. And can i say she may have wrote a book to keep her mind off things - what else is she supposed to do get depressed. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. People may NOT have liked Kylie but she is a stayer and she has her fans, and ok probably not in the same league as other folks, but each to there own i guess. But she knows what the fans like and like Madonna she always changes her image, and she has sex appeal and so what if she is getting older Madonna is 46 and is still selling records/albums
