Thanks SH. That's really useful to know, although it doesn't seem like there's much you can do about it. That's why it's important to check out the feedback of your buyers. You can refuse to accept an offer from a buyer during the auction if you don't like his feedback score. Anyone in the habit of ripping sellers off is bound to have negative feedbacks. You might even consider anything below a certain threshold of positives to be too low as well, especially if it's a recently created account. Theoretically you could specify collection only and require that the buyer pick it up from you directly. In which case you can insist on the money up front and don't have to worry about PayPal (I did this when I sold my TV recently). Of course that reduces the number of people likely to bid on it! Regards Julian Thing is ive never had any feedback from the buyer i had a problem with when selling old vintage pc, and i keep checking my paypal account but it tells me that i need to resolve the issue - i don't know how to as i cant use my paypal account - i would love to sell stuff and the only option would be to set up another account just for selling *hmmm* ps i always have positive feedback from sellers as im a quick payer even if it is by postal order

Julian SH and j3 - thanks again for the advice. It all sounds quite scary. I'm beginning to consider making the software freeware !

I asked Ebay but they were not really helpful and my paypal account is not allowed to be used i think but the silly thing is i checked my bank account today and i had money put in by pay pal? which is confusing in the least - 15p then 13p? which was weird.....might chat to someone on the boards. What i was considering is giving myself another account just for selling with different bank account details, no idea what to do

Julian SH and j3 - thanks again for the advice. It all sounds quite scary. I'm beginning to consider making the software freeware ! You can sell it from your site and have a shopping cart, I have one on the web hosting site. Or make a donations button with paypal.

Don't leave it too long before you do something, if they still haven't answered your emails by Monday (Paypal say that sellers must send you your item within a week of it being paid for) open a dispute for item not received, give it 2 days max after that and then escalate it into a claim for your money back.

Ah, that could be it, maybe because she's had problems with her account she needs to verify it again
