Thanks for the support guys. I have just thought about the cost and me and hubby [he's given up as well] will save around [glow=red,2,300]£300 per month[/glow] by giving up. We've already saved over a tenner. WOW this kind of thinking really helps with cravings Aw hotscotch, that's great! A big 'well done you' for taking the plunge hon So many of my favourtie fakers are smokers. I hate the thought of any of you ever suffereing the worse consequences of dreaded weed. Im well chuffed every time one of you manages to kick the habbit. Good luck with it hotscotch and I'll keep my fingers crossed that kirstie, Andy and Carrickmac all manage to soon as well!

I've just came in from work and have now not smoked for nearly 46 hrs and you know what - my house is stinking of stale smoke. I am black affronted that my friends and family [most of whom don't smoke] have been coming in here and smelling that revolting foostie smell. Will be spending the weekend cleaning house from top to toe with some zoflora me thinks. On a more cheerful note, I am hardly using the inhaler at all now and am going for longer periods without even thinking about it. I would even go as far as to say that it has been a lot easier than I thought it would be, and that so far, the biggest hurdle was just making the decision to stop. Now saved about £20 - loving this bit - it's bringing the scotswoman out in me

You have a good reason now just like I did. I also lost my dad in his fifties. You can do this Carrick. Everytime you want that cigarette think how much more you want a longer life and eat some chewing gum. It is worth that effort and to all your friends and current family, you owe them the effort as I am sure they all love you and want to always be around you. I wish you luck and think you have definately made the right decision. Well done there.

Well done Carrick, it's hard but you can do it. I'm 2 hours away from being rid of cigs for a week and I feel better for it already. I don't get as breathless walking upstairs or other strenuous activities [once i get there]. re the money - we have already saved £140 pounds and are going to take the kids to Disneyland, Paris next year to reap the benefits. The promise has now been made, which makes it easier not to give into any temptation. Do you have any aids to help you Carrick? I couldn't do it without the patches and my little inhaler stick. The inhalers are disgusting but one puff of that and you feel like you've smoked half a dozen ciggies one after the other - I feel it also helps give me that oomph I need at the back of my throat [I'm sure only smokers and ex-smokers will know what I mean by that]. Good luck today with your appointment. Take care, Angie
