I have to agree with remaha on this. The MacDonald Brothers, were atrocious yet again and should have gone (IMO they should have been up against sweet but boring, snooze-a-long-a-Kerry, in the final sing-off ) 4sure didnt really put in a great performance but can do a whole lot better and didnt deserve to be in the bottom two. That said they don't really have anything that stands out and they're unlikely to last to the final on the basis of what we've seen so far.
As for Robert, even with his OTT first performance, his underlying talent and infectious personality shine out. What on earth were people thinking!! The fact that he was able to give such a fantastic second performance, changing the style easily although the pressure was really on, shows he has what it takes to go the distance.
His genuinely warm and bubbling personality, guarantees a smile on my face and instantly lifts my spirits. He's a born performer and when he has the right song, his voice is terrific. I hope he gets to perform a song that really does his potential justice next week, because it's patently obvious how much he genuinely wants it.
She'll go through on her voice alone but Im afraid I still haven't changed my views on Leona. Yes, she has the voice but nothing else is working for me. She hasn't any stage presence and I still don't get any personality from her. I actually feel agitated when shes on the screen.
As if it's not enough that she sings with her hand whilst warbling little bit too much Mariah style, I noticed this week that she even waves the hand about in the same way when she's just speaking. arghh!! What the heck is that all about? I wanted to grab hold of it and scream, 'stop it'!! Sorry, too irritating for me to enjoy the voice. Maybe its just me. Its a shame, but she's going to have to change her style an awful lot just to get me listening properly to her.
Dionne, Nikitta, Ashley and Ben are all doing a good job. I get a sense that Dionne definitely has a lot more in her and Simon was totally right in his advice to her. Ashley still hasn't been given the right song to be able to truly shine. Eaton Road put in an Ok performance, as did Ray. Still not convinced that either act can go the distance, unless they can raise the bar by pulling a something special out of the bag. Then again, they'll both probably continue to get the mums voting for them regardless.
I started last week being disappointed that none of the acts Id hoped to see, failed to survive. I didn't have anybody I felt I could get behind. This week I appear, once again, to have hitched myself a ride with a little bit of an underdog, in developing such a fondness for the open and enigmatic little fighter, Robert. I seem to be making a habit of it but it's enough to keep me watching every week, for now.
