This is going to sound really shallow, but heyy.
Dione (is that how you spell it?) sounded great. But she was wobbling round the stage like a pregnant duck. I think it was the heels they put her in. I'm not sure she'd ever worn anything like that before. Did you see how she came down the steps?

She wasn't good in the heels remaha, you're right As a female who never wears heels, I'd be the same I'm sure Ben or Ray would look as wobbly on heels too - luckily for them they're guys and can get away with wearing what they like and what they're comfortable with. I always feel us girls are more under pressure in terms of how they have to look. I know overall, Image is a big part - I just think that too often it plays too big a part. Take for example, the young boy that sang Ben and the boy with the Bob Marley hair. Nothing against either of them, but I think both of them are very mediocre singers - and neither of them would be there it wasn't for the fact one looked cute and the other looked funky. If you listened to them without seeing them, they sound the same as thousands of other ordinary singers. I'm not even talking about some extra 'star quality' they have - just their physical appearance - and I think both of them will probably end up going far in the show because of it. This thing bothers me when I start to see really talented singers being put out. But I suppose its all down to what appeals most to the general public as a whole.

You're right cloud 9. But the music industry is 50% talent and 50% image these days. In fact the image may even be more important than the talent these days as we'll probably see when Ray or that other one end up winning.
I tell you who I don't want to win. And that's the girl in the wheelchair. It's like Pete all over again. She's going to get the sympathy vote. She's a lovely person and she has quite a nice voice but I think Sharon put her in because of the wheelchair and the good story.

I know what you mean about the girl in the wheelchair - but please don't compare her with Pete ......shes too nice and genuine for that kind of comparison I liked her (personality wise) and couldn't help but feel for her and warm to her. I think she did enough to get through to tonight - to a certain extent I think she was deserving enough to reach there (although I'm sure Sharon did have a bit of bias towards her). But tonights performance was dull - and could have got her kicked out. I didn't expect her to go tonight because I know she'd probably won a few hearts, but I don't think she'll go that far either - she could beat the Mcdonald brothers which I don't think would be unfair. And although she was disappointing tonight, shes got a better voice than the two boys I mentioned in my other post - who I think will go far. I don't agree with the sympathy thing myself - as I said with the looks, its annoying moreso when you see more talented people sacraficied as a result. At least I like the girl in a wheelchair (I don't think shes after the sympathy vote) and she has got a reasonable voice. But I dont' think shes good enough to go far - maybe make it through next week if shes lucky.

I have to pick up X-factor on sunday night now cos Im working most of the week/end. Im still sticking to my choices.. oh but I have one irritation which i have GOT to get off my chest...WHY oh WHY do they think it is necessary to cry?? they nearly all cried!!!! One thing they will have to learn to deal with is pressure...and crying may seem like a release but it is highly unprofessional and shows their inability to deal with pressure. Sad but true. The other thing is that only RAW talent should win these shows, people who are cool and professional, commercial, hip and photogenic are the ONLY possibilities for winning.. which is why Ashley, stands out... I need to get myself up on who is who - I don't even know which one Ashely was Nikitta and Leona are definatley the two for me, but the black guy who appeared first had a general, overall appeal. Was that Ashley?

I think Ashley's the young guy with frizzy hair. I might be wrong though.
cloud 9, I only said that about Pete to tease you really. I do really like the Scottish lady in the wheelchair. I'm a sucker for a Scottish accent anyway. I think she might be Kate or Katie. I'm like you, I need to learn the names.

He looks quite funky, but he shouldn't win it on just how he looks. I didn't see him having a particular 'x-factor' other than how he looked physically. His voice was all right, but not that good to be a winner - but I think he will go a far and possibly win - something I think would be very difficult for him to do if he sang the same songs with the same voice but had ginger straight hair instead. I'll keep an open mind though, in case I've missed something about him thats special. That was very naughty of you to bring Pete into it deliberately I do get your point in principle about the girl in the wheelchair (I feel awful for referring to her like that ) ....I like her as a person, but I don't think shes good enough to be in the top three. Being a Scot myself I'm not going to have a go at her for her accent though

TBH Im quite sad that there don't seem to be the characters we had last year. I miss the lovely Brenda and the silky voice of Andy. I agree with cloud about Kerry, her voice sadly just isn't strong enough. having to sing sitting down is always a disadvantage. It's much harder to get any real power and projection in your voice because breathing is shallower. Kerry's voice is quite sweet but has no oomph to it! I like the personalities of Ray and Robert (quite a good voice given the right song) and I find the quirky personality of Eaton Road's lead singer interesting (they did surprisingly well tonight I thought) but some of the real favourite voices I had this year went out in the earlier rounds Leona and Nikitta have a fair chance but Im not backing anyone!

am I the only one that doesn't like Leona??? I can't put my finger on it but I just can't take to her. I thought Robert was good fun last night and 4 sure were great but am still backing Nikitta
