I am going to transfer all the great posts that made it on to the BB forum over here before they get deleted. Please feel free to add your favourites whether new or old. We'll probably make this a sticky thread so that it stays at the top without having to be bumped all the time. [Later edit: This is now the permanent and natural home of the "Great Posts" thread. Apologies to anyone who's had trouble tracking it down. ]

Aisleyne's time in the house BY tomroc
She comes in, as a newcomer, which is traditionally difficult for housemates, amidst a distinct split in the house in week 2, with Sam(uel). A he/she who distracts all the initial attention away from her.
Imogen and Sezer VOW to bully her and make her life in the house nuts. "She doesn't have a single brain cell in her body" Quote Imogen. Sezer, Grace and Mikey describe her and Nikki as trashy slags and slate how she looks in the morning with no make-up.
Sam and Aisleyne are ostracised and ignored from their first night onwards, but Aisleyne remains in high spirits, defying them. Naturally, the Pete/Lea/Richard "family" begin to welcome her in and when Lea is put up for eviction with Sezer and Richard, Aisleyne is the ONLY housemate to console her.
Sezer leaves so things settle for a while, Grace takes over as the main antagonist, coining the nickname "moose". Lea/Rich and Ais get quite close and a relationship between Pete and Ais beings to blossom, particularly during the task when Pete and Ais were paired as gardeners.
The whole "Lisa said this about Lea, so Sam tells Imogen and Grace and Grace tells Lea" thing happens. Sam gets paranoid and tells Aisleyne to be wary of Lea. Aisleyne has a go at Sam "keeping it real" haha and so on ... Sam actually warns her on the live feed that Lea is jealous of people getting close to Pete. I think at this point where Lea & Ais disintegrate. Ais doesn't quite believe it yet though ....
Ais regrets nominating Sam and takes her under her wing for her last two days. Sam goes to boos. Horrifically she only has 30 seconds and the crowd boo persistently even while she cries. Aisleyne consoles Glyn who feels guilty for nominating Sam - as does Ais. A friendship blossoms between the HM who bought her into the house ..
The same night Grace and everyone hear "get Grace out". Ais thinks they're booing her initially, because she is about to pick the Golden Housemate ... and she looks horrified .. Ais then realises its Grace getting booed and despite Grace slagging Ais off all the time, she tries to comfort her.
Ais introduces Susie to the house, and is the only housemate, besides Dickie, to truly take her in and accept her (and not brown nose initially).
Ais and Pete grow closer and closer, but Nikki comes on the scene a lot more .. and there is tension between Lea/Nikki and Pete. Lea is too overbearing, Nikki almost emotionally blackmails him .. Aisleyne simply backs off, realising he's stressed..
Lea beings to bi@tch subtly about Ais. Lea and Dickie fall out, Dickie clings to Susie and Aisleyne, as he has noone else. Grace goes the following week after bullying Susie and Aisleyne and anyone else who had invaded on her territory. In a sad attempt to get back at her nominator, Grace throws a glass of water on Susie. Aisleyne is perhaps the only HM to properly stick up for Suzie, she's certainly the most vocal, and holds her own against an irate Lisa.
Lisa/Imogen and Mikey bi@tch about Ais after she says something "insensitive" about Grace leaving. After weeks of altered nominations, Lisa/Nikki/Imogen/Glyn and Lea get in trouble for speaking about noms. Ais has never broken any rules in this way .. and even after 8 weeks of having outsider knowledge .. she has never spilled .. compare this to Jayne.
Lisa goes that week .. leaving Imogen with no proper female ally .. but I think the friendship between her and Aisleyne grows genuine despite their initial misunderstandings.
However, by now, Ais has done enough to get herself nominated. Her and fellow newcomer Susie are up for fake eviction. "Friends" Pete, Lea and Richard put her up ... Aisleyne understandably becomes moody and starts speaking her mind a lot more "KNOW YOURSELF" haha. She comes to blows with Lea twice over the milk task .. and Nikki pretty much all the time. Perhaps using other HMs as examples does not help, and makes people feel uncomfortable (Glyn/Pete), but nonetheless, Ais is evicted to rip roaring booing. It looks like she's having a panic attack as she ascends the stairs. Then ... it turns out .. it's all been fake and she's thrown into the secret house.
Her mind is all over the place. Five new housemates enter the house nextdoor and Ais faces some very tough decisions. She naturally gets rid of Jayne for being annoying. And who can blame her .. This still upsets Ais a lot and it begins to take it's toll. She gets on well with the remaining four and it all goes smoothly as they realise the "evictees" are going nextdoor.
By now Dickie and Lea are up for eviction and are "pally pally" once more. Pete is cosying up to Nikki by now too .. or is it the other way round .. who knows ... anyway ... she has to evict someone she really likes live, in front of everyone and evict them to no crowds, nothing. This destroys Aisleyne and she is distraught. Head in hands she returns to the house all confused and bewildered "smelling of cheese" according to Imogen.
Jayne is all "I hated that slag .. noone likes her". Nikki is all "You hate me, she’s a bully, she hates me" and Lea is all "she's blanking me". Well, Lea goes ... Nikki bitches even more and Ais is now in a more comfortable position in the house .. Mikey and Imogen have gone back on there first words about her and there only seems to be a problem with Nikki and Jayne.
Nikki Jayne and Ais bi@tch about Jennie at one point .. and things look markedly weird for a moment .. all about Pete it was, but Ais catches herself. After a night of some spin the bottle action .. she lets Spiral down rather nastily and snogs Pete and Nikki. She was pissed however .. and from then until now .. Ais has only has minor altercations ... with Nikki leaving dramatically ... it all looked rosie .. apart from Dickie and Jayne beginning to turn on her again .. it's ironic as the people who liked her to start .. ended up trying to get rid of her .. even though she was there for Lea and Richard when they had no one.
The people who vowed to make her time nuts, are now her closest friends.
Pete and Ais seem okay now things are settling, and she has enough friends to feel comfortable ... but you can understand why she'd be paranoid.
So Friday night when she hears her name being chanted at Jayne’s eviction .. it all comes rolling back out .. its all starting again.
Does she really, really deserve it?
BBLB is inherently biased against her .. 100% obviously wanted her out in the big eviction last week ... the highlights have been merely indifferent, sometimes we see her looking rough in bed .. sometimes we see her with her bum out .. and that’s about it right now.
Is this fair? No! If you ask me .. she is almost like a NICE Makosi from last year. She's been at the centre of so much that's happened .. she's been in control sometimes, been hated, been liked, been up and down and all around and she's been put through so much nuts its hard to imagine how shes still going.
That's Aisleyne's story so far. What do you think?
ps thanks for reading!!

This one was posted on 24 July by cloud 9 as an analysis of Ash's relationship with Pete
Ash has decided to give him [Pete] space and this is partly due to Petes behaviour too - its difficult to know what he wants because he doesn't say - this is why Nicky, Lea etc never knew where they stood with him. All Ash has done has not been all over him the way they were. She shared her feelings about how much she liked him with Michael last night - shes always been there for a cuddle when he wanted one. Her only crime is to spend equal amount of times with other people and not following Pete around the way others have - Pete isnt' used to that.
Pete never made Ais the centre of attention - he always shared his time with Lea and Nicky and lately even Jenny so I don't get how people feel Ash owes him something - as if hes been dedicated to her and shes let him down or something. I hope they do spend some time together and like each other in more equal terms unlike Pete and the other ladies - where they're both supporting each other equally. The problem is Ais thinks she was too possesive with Pete before - the more shes giving him space the more Pete thinks she doesn't like him. Equally the more Pete doesn't make an attempt to be with her the more Ais will begin to think that it always has to be her making the effort. They're sending out mixed signals - but I think they both really like each other and could get really close again if they have a chance to have a heart to heart.

Cloud9 replying to a post by Nobrains the question was 'why do you like Aisleyne'
quote:
I must admit, when Glyn opened the box and she got out, I thought "Oh God, another wannabe ", but as the show has gone on, I have found myself liking her more and more.
I was the same - and I don't think many would have been rooting for her when they first saw her - that shows you how well shes done - shes actually earned their support while shes been there which shows you shes done well.
How I came to like her:
-Just newly in the house, it must have been quite daunting - immediately she told it to Siezer like it was
-Was shunned and bi@tched about by the Grace, Nicky crowd. I was impressed how strong she was at coping with that.
-Everyone shunned Sam and really took the piss out of her behind her back - if not with each other slagging her off in the diary room. Lots just ignored her. Ash was the only one who rather than slagging her off behind her back, was honest with her about what annoyed her about him. Then after nominations, was the only one to apolgogise and be there for Sam. Everyone else was too concerned at the time for Nicky being up for eviction.
-Liked the way she stood up for Susie when everyone else looked down at the floor - knowing it was wrong but not wanting to say anything. Its one thing to be nice and not behave badly - its another to have the moral courage to stand up against bullying/bad behavoiour. Ash appreciated the support Susy had given her and was loyal in supporting her.
-Liked the way that she accepted Immogen and Nicky after Graces eviction when they no longer seemed to have an issue with her. She could have held grudges against them for being nasty to her at the start - or went to the diary room to highlight to the public their falsness since they changed towards her since Grace was evicted (the way a few other housemates like to do). Instead she moved on with them without even a grudge.
-Got upset after being nominated - and spoke a few home truths to Lea and Nicky. I did not condone this behaviour - however, it did show she was human and not just playing up to the camera and I admired the way she was humble enough to reflect that she was wrong and apologise for it.
-Had to cope with the fact that both Lea and Pete nominated her. Again, most would have held a grudge against them when they returned to the house or tried to get back at them some way, or moped about because of it. As she did with Immogen, she was able to start again and move on without holding any grudges.
-It was obvious she bonded with Jonathon and it was tough for her having to cope with knowing she was the one who evicted him
-After all the stuff she'd been through in the new house - she had to return to the old one not only knowing that a lot of them had nominated her last time, but had to put up with Jayne slagging her off all the time because Ais had evicted her (compare Jaynes reaction to being nominated by Ash to Ash reaction after being nominated by Lea and Pete). Never mind it was far worse for Ash, seeing as Jayne knew Ash was forced into it and Ash made it clear she liked her and there was no big reason.
-Had to cope with Nicky bi@tching about her too - for no reason other than she was jealous of Pete liking her. its not just the sympathy and unjustness of it all that made me warm to Ash - but the way she copes with it. She doesn't bi@tch back the way most would. Doesn't try to highlight the persons flaws for behaving the way she was with her - or go into a childish mood because of it. She goes to Nicky and trys her best to build bridges and sort it out.
-After all this, she finds out from other housemates that Nicky is still trying to stir the nuts with her - she yet again doesn't lose it or turn nasty but tries again to sort it out. Patience of a saint.
-Then shes told in front of all the housemates that Jayne and Nicky have been slagging her off. Shes upset which shows she has a heart - but yet again doesn't turn nasty and start being nasty to them. Ends up cuddling and supporting them not long after when they come to her.
-Does not use ammunition that she has which she could use against them. When Jayne exposed herself as a liar when she denied she hadn't called Ash a bullnutster, Ash had Michael to prove it. Remember this was just after she had heard Jayne and Nicky had been slagging her off. Most people would have wanted revenge and would have made a big incident in the house about it - letting all the housemates know - or even gone on about it in the diary room to paint Jaynes character bad. Again, she moves on with dignity and class - and supports Jayne after - even does her make-up before eviction.
-Continues to look out for people when they're down - eg Immogen. Has enough reserve to Remain a strong character in there despite all this nuts shes been through - and still remains popular.
-Next recent installment - coping with the boos.
Throughout her time shes showed she is big enough to reflect, talk freely about her feelings and admit her faults (eg jealousies) not just to other people but to Jennys face (unlike Lea and Nicky who deny they are jealous - just backstab the person they have the jealousy with). Thats why Ash was able to get close again with Jenny afterwards - she wants to make up for things.
Thats the Ash story so far. Shes not perfect. Quite enjoys being centre of attention - likes to show her ass. So what. Shes had a tough life and I think she managed to show that despite her image (which is why most didn't think they'd support her when she first came in) she has some lovely genuine qualities - and shes also strong and a bit of an entertainer. So few have had that in the BB. If they're strong and confident they usually back stab and bi@tch. The ones who are perceived as nice, do little and stay under the radar. Ash has done neither.
Shes earned it.

Excerpt from post by battybetty re Great Posts thread
A house without Ash-a-leen would be like a stew without the seasoning; bland and flavourless!
IMO it must take a very cold fish to watch her for any length of time and still fail to see that essentially she has a good heart.
Let the haters continue to spread hate without reason. Like Ash, we know that spreading the love is the only way to go in life.

Another poem by ODM posted on 26 July
Spread the love for asherleyne.. confound the fools that like to dream suggesting that she is no good as if i would believe the mean and walk away from our asherleyne.
she will triumph in the end but till she does i will defend what fair and right and what is truth not prejudice and words uncouth.
the nicest people in this world are often stoned and scorned but i know that our asherleyne will rise above it all.
geddon girl!!

Post by slowie34 from the Great Posts thread (26 July)
When Ais first entered the house it was clear from the start that she went in to have some fun. She wasnt interested in all the backstabbing and bi&&ing that was already going on. She was having a laugh and was a breath of fresh air. I loved her from the start.
People keep going on about how much she has changed in there. She still has a laugh and still makes me laugh and cry when things are really bad for her.
We have seen differences in all of the housemates. They are cooped up in an alien world, of course they are going to go through changes with all the ups and downs, and with people coming and going. But unfortuately for some reason some people believe that Ais shouldnt be allowed to react to these infuences. She has probably been through more than most but has still remained solid. Yeah she got peed off with Nikki and Lea (who were supposed to be her friends) and rightly so. That made her a "bully" Ohhhhh purleeeze.
With the booos on fake eviction night she thought she was hated on the outside (although she had done nonthing to deserve this) but found it was all fake. Of course she is going to react and be different to how she was in the other house. What a roller coaster.
But BB did not stop there. They made her choose from her closest friends in there to evict. When she cried people cried "fake". With emotional turmoil that she endured I would defy anyone to not cry or be emotional.
I have loved Ais through it all. She had kept her head together and stayed strong through it all. Some of the HM would have walked for less. She has kept it real.
In some eyes nothing she could do would be right. She needs people to give her a break. She doesnt deserve all the hatred she is getting.
If anyone is going to the evictions on Friday please let her know that she has a lot of support out here.
Faker No 126.

If i was Aisleyne i would be proud to have such a well proportioned all walks of life fan base. A fan base which understands other people who do not like Aisleyne and reason with them reasonably . A fan base which has took weeks and weeks of horrid nasty insults about Aisleyne and sometimes themselfs and yet still support her and carry on smiling . A fan base which represents good all roung Britishness and fairness . I could go on and on and on but will finish with against all the odds and vulgarity we still fight on and type away our reasons why Aisleyne is the best housemate in Big Brother and in my mind one of the best housemates ever in Big Brother's history . WELL DONE WE ALL ROCK

Im not meaning this to start another row or bring personal attacks on me for my opinions.. but rather give my genuine reasons so as to hopefully make some people see her from a different perspective.
I like Aisleyne because she is the only one who we have seen all sides of... and as soon as she thinks shes in the wrong she apologises.
All the gumpf about her bikinis - well shes been left some others now and has dropped the thongs because she was being misconstrued... and because of Mikey-bite-gate.
All the gumpf about her being flirty - I have male friends and we are quite huggy, occasionally flirty and often giggly... doesnt mean that we want a quickie. It just means we've grown up abit and can tell the difference between friendship and 'relationships'...
All the gumpf about her being horrid to Nikki and Lea - I dont think anyone could disagree that they played the sympathy card WAY too often in that week. She was feeling brow beaten and had the guts to stand up to it.
I like her laugh and the way she gets WAY over excited about things... and then plummets down to earth with a bump when she's feeling down.
I like her because Ive seen all these things and it makes me feel like Ive been sat next to her through this whole 'game'.
Im not obsessed with her. Im not saying that she's the best thing since sliced bread(!). Im just saying that she's the one who has interested me most in there.
PLUS I am supporting her because I would like to show prejudiced, biaised morons, who cant see past their own little world, that a woman can be gorgeous, ugly, strong, weak, headstrong, self-doubting, funny or annoying, right and wrong ... and THAT is what makes a true human being.
Anyone who isnt all those things is faking something along the line.... or arrogant as hell.
